What is SPC Vinyl Flooring?

Click vinyl flooring or Stone Plastic Composite (SPC) is a durable, top-down waterproof flooring made from limestone and PVC. It features a rigid core for stability, easy click-lock installation, a built-in underlay, and realistic wood or stone-look designs.

Benefits of SPC Vinyl Flooring

  • Great diversity in decor options for both wood and stone looks.
  • Waterproof from the top down and very heat stable compared to glue down vinyl.
  • Click-and-lock systems allow for quick or DIY installation, reducing the project timeline and cost.

Challenges of SPC Vinyl Flooring

  • Click joint structure tends to be more fragile than laminates and so a level substrate is very important.
  • Hard surface and can sound ‘clickety’ under foot due to floating installation. Additional underlays cannot be used due to bonded acoustic layer.
  • Requires stringent adherence to installation expansion gaps and breaks, limiting the seamless flow of floor from room to room.
