Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) | Vapour Barrier Underlays

Description

Vapour barrier sheeting or a damp proof membrane is used in flooring installations to prevent moisture from penetrating and damaging materials such as wood or laminate. It is typically placed between the subfloor and flooring to enhance durability, minimize mold growth, and improve insulation. Specifically, this protective layer at a minimum of 80 micron is a requirement for SPC or Stone Plastic Composite installations. It can also be used in conjunction with an acoustic barrier, such as crumbed rubber, to offer both acoustic and moisture solutions for laminates or engineered categories (not for SPC with a pre-bonded underlayment layer).
